Martin G. Hacala

Martin G. Hacala is Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Genesis. He assumed the leadership of Genesis in January 2015. Previously, Marty held a variety of senior underwriting and claims positions in Genesis, General Star, and Gen Re. Prior to joining the Gen Re group in 1997, Marty was a partner in the Washington, DC law firm of Ross, Dixon, and Masback, LLP, where his practice centered on insurance coverage litigation and counseling.  Marty also served as a Trial Attorney with the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice. He was appointed to that position through the Attorney General's Honors Program. Marty received his AB and JD degrees with honors from St. Louis University.


 
Kevin Williams

Kevin is Senior Vice President and Division Manager for Genesis. He joined the Underwriting Department in 1989. He holds a Masters degree from Drake University, and received a B.S. degree from Iowa State University. Kevin has obtained his CPCU designation.

   


John Fumo

John is Vice President and Eastern Regional Manager for Genesis. He joined the General Re Group in 1985,
working with General Star Management Company for 18 year before transferring to Genesis in 2003. John holds
a B.A. from New York University and has obtained his CPCU and ARe designations.

   




Lauren Nevens

Lauren is Vice President and Western Regional Manager for Genesis, also serving as a facilitator and Effective Intelligence instructor.  She joined the Gen Re Group in 2000. Lauren received her BA degree from the University of Iowa in 1997, and her JD, with distinction, from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2000.

   

 
Lauren Hilan

Lauren is Senior Vice President of Genesis and Manager of the Claim Department.  She has been in the insurance industry since 1977.  Lauren has worked for the corporation since 1986.  Prior that that, she worked for Northbrook Excess & Surplus Insurance Company, handling multiple lines of coverage.  She holds an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation.

 


Lane DeCoster

Lane A. DeCoster is Senior Vice President, Chief Underwriting Officer, and Underwriting Services Division Manager of Genesis.  He leads corporate underwriting, referral underwriting, actuarial pricing, data analytics, predictive modeling, coverage wording, state filings and regulatory compliance, and catastrophe management for enterprise risk management.  He has the same roles for General Star.  Prior to assuming these positions for Genesis in 2015, he was a Vice President and Senior Referral Officer for Genesis and General Star.  Lane’s career began at The Home Insurance Company as a commercial underwriter.  In 1987, Lane joined the Gen Re Group and held various reinsurance positions in underwriting, marketing, and management in Treaty, Casualty Facultative Programs, and initially Genesis.  Lane received a BS degree from the University of Vermont.

 



Regina Kirwan

Regina Kirwan is Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Genesis.  Regina manages the Business Development Division which focuses on brand management, communication, product development and producer management. Regina joined General Reinsurance as a Casualty Facultative Manager in 1996 and in 2015, Regina became the Genesis Training Manager.   Prior to General Reinsurance,  Regina held various underwriting roles for insurance and reinsurance companies. Regina received her BA degree in Management-Marketing from Holy Family University. She is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania Insurance Executive Development Program and has also obtained her CPCU designation.
