Martin G. Hacala

Martin G. Hacala is President and Chief Executive Officer of Genesis.  He assumed this role in January 2015.  Previously, Marty held a variety of senior underwriting and claims roles in Genesis, General Star, and Gen Re.  He first joined the group in 1997.  Prior to that, Marty was a partner in the Washington, DC law firm of Ross, Dixon, and Masback, LLP, where his law practice centered on insurance coverage litigation and counseling.  Marty also served for four years as a Trial Attorney with the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice.  He was appointed to that position through the the Attorney General's Honors Program.  Marty received his AB and JD degrees with honors from St. Louis University.

 



Lane DeCoster

Lane is a Senior Vice President, Chief Underwriting Officer, Division Manager and on the board of directors
for Genesis (and General Star, an affiliated excess and surplus lines insurance group). Prior to his appointment
to these positions in 2015, he was at General Star and Genesis for seven years as a Senior Referral Officer of the Underwriting Services Division.  In 1987, Lane joined the Gen Re Group and held various underwriting, marketing
and management positions in Treaty and Cas Fac Programs. In 1989, he was at Genesis when Gen Re launched
the company. Lane received a BS from the School of Engineering, Mathematics and Business Administration at
the University of Vermont. After graduation he joined The Home Insurance Company as a commercial underwriter.
Lane is originally from Maine.



Regina Kirwan

Regina Kirwan is Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Genesis.  Regina manages the Business Development
Division which focuses on brand management, communication, product development and producer management.  
Regina joined General Reinsurance as a Casualty Facultative Manager in 1996 and in 2015, Regina became the
Genesis Training Manager.   Prior to General Reinsurance,  Regina held various underwriting roles for insurance
and reinsurance companies. Regina received her BA degree in Management-Marketing from Holy Family University.
She is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania Insurance Executive Development Program
and has also obtained her CPCU designation. 



Jill Eaton

Jill is a Senior Vice President and National Division Manager for Genesis. She joined the Underwriting Department in 1991, and has been actively involved in shaping Genesis direction on governmental and educational risks since the Public Entity initiative was established in 2000. Prior to her current appointment, she was the Branch Manager for the San Francisco office. Jill holds an M.B.A. in Finance from Golden Gate University, and received her undergraduate degree in Business from The George Washington University. Jill has obtained her ARM designation.

      



Greg Diorio

Greg Diorio is a Senior Vice President and Deputy Chief Risk Officer for Genesis. Greg joined General Star
in 1986 as an underwriter in the General Star Property Department. Prior to joining General Star, he was a
property underwriter with Industrial Risk Insurers. Greg is a graduate of Hartwick College.

 




James Dart

Jim is Vice President and Northeast Regional Manager for Genesis. He began his underwriting career at General Reinsurance in 1986 in the Broker Markets Unit which was the precursor to Genesis. Over the years, Jim has held
a variety of underwriting, marketing and management positions within Genesis. Prior to his current position he was
the Branch Manager of Genesis' Stamford office. Jim is a graduate of Sacred Heart University.




Lauren Nevens

Lauren is Vice President and Midwest Regional Manager for Genesis, also serving as a facilitator and Effective Intelligence instructor.  She joined the Gen Re Group in 2000. Lauren received her BA degree from the University of Iowa in 1997, and her JD, with distinction, from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2000.

   

John Fumo

John is Vice President and Southeast Regional Manager for Genesis. He joined the General Re Group in 1985,
working with General Star Management Company for 18 year before transferring to Genesis in 2003. John holds
a B.A. from New York University and has obtained his CPCU and ARe designations.

 

 
Kevin Williams

Kevin is Vice President and West Regional Manager for Genesis. He joined the Underwriting Department in 1989.
Kevin is also the branch manager for the Chicago office. He holds a Masters degree from Drake University, and
received a B.S. degree from Iowa State University. Kevin has obtained his CPCU designation.

 

 
Lauren Hilan

Lauren is a Senior Vice President of Genesis and Manager of the Claim Department.  She has been in the insurance industry since 1977.  Lauren has worked for the corporation since 1986.  Prior that that, she worked for Northbrook Excess & Surplus Insurance Company, handling multiple lines of coverage.  She holds an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation.

 

 
Robert Sharrer

Robert Sharrer is a Senior Vice President of the Business Services Division.  Robert joined the General Re Group 
in 1987 as a client accountant in the New York branch.  He has held a variety of client, statutory and management accounting roles in General Star, Genesis and General Re Global Finance.  He assumed responsibility for managing Genesis Accounting in 2008, and Genesis Operations in 2014.  Robert received his BA from Vassar College and his MBA in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University.   He has obtained his CPCU, AIAF and ARe designations.
